What is Disney Lorcana: Shimmering Skies?

Disney Lorcana: Shimmering Skies is the fifth set in the Lorcana TCG series and marks the start of the game’s second year. This set continues the adventure in the Lorcana universe with a celebratory theme, introducing new Disney franchises — including Wreck-It Ralph — in a big way. For both collectors and players, Shimmering Skies is a milestone that expands deck-building and collecting options with 204 main cards and 18 exclusive Enchanted cards. If you want to explore the entire Lorcana series, you can find an overview on our Disney Lorcana page.

Different products in the Shimmering Skies series

The Shimmering Skies set offers several product formats, each tailored to different needs and preferences. The most popular formats include Booster Display, Booster Packs, Illumineer's Trove, Starter Decks and a range of accessories.

Booster Display consists of 24 booster packs, each containing 12 random cards. This format is ideal if you want to expand your collection significantly or chase rare Enchanted and cold foil cards. A Booster pack is a good choice if you prefer opening individual packs and enjoying the thrill of random pulls.

Illumineer's Trove is a curated product that combines multiple booster packs, exclusive accessories and storage solutions in one bundle. The Trove format is popular among both collectors and players who want a comprehensive look at the set’s contents and a solid starting point for deck-building.

Starter Decks are for those who want to get playing quickly. Each deck is built around two ink colors — e.g. Amethyst/Ruby with Elsa - The Fifth Spirit and Wreck-It Ralph - Demolition Dude, or Emerald/Steel with Scar - Vengeful Lion and Kronk - Head of Security. These decks are ready to play and provide insight into the set’s mechanics and strategy.

How to choose the right Shimmering Skies product

Your choice depends on whether you’re primarily collecting or playing. A Booster Display gives you the best chance to pull rare chase cards and Enchanted variants, while Booster Packs are perfect for gradually expanding your collection or trading with other Lorcana enthusiasts. Illumineer's Trove combines the experience of opening multiple packs with practical storage and unique accessories, making it a popular choice for both beginners and seasoned collectors.

Starter Decks are the obvious pick if you want to learn the game from scratch or introduce new players to the Lorcana universe. They provide a balanced deck that demonstrates how Shimmering Skies’ mechanics — such as exertion, banish and item interactions — work in practice.

Compared to previous Lorcana sets, Shimmering Skies features updated Enchanted designs with larger full-art areas, new text boxes and borders, and a broader representation of Disney characters. This makes the set especially attractive to collectors who value aesthetics and rarity.

Benefits of Shimmering Skies for collectors and players

Shimmering Skies stands out with its combination of technical innovation and visual appeal. The new Enchanted cards are sought after for their full-art design and cold foil variants, which highlight the cards’ details and colors. For collectors, hunting the 18 Enchanted cards — three per ink color — is an exciting challenge, while players gain access to updated mechanics and strategic options in deck-building.

The set is fully compatible with earlier Lorcana releases, so you can mix cards across sets and ink colors like Amethyst, Ruby, Emerald and Steel. That makes Shimmering Skies suitable for casual play, tournaments and advanced deck optimization.

Accessories for Shimmering Skies cards

To protect and display your Shimmering Skies cards, it’s recommended to invest in quality accessories. Playmats provide a stable playing surface, while deck boxes and sleeves protect cards from wear and damage. Especially sleeves and deck boxes with Shimmering Skies themes — such as Aladdin/Tiana designs — are popular among collectors who want to match their accessories to the set’s aesthetic.
