Disney Lorcana: Whispers in the Well

What is Disney Lorcana: Whispers in the Well?

Disney Lorcana Whispers in the Well is the tenth core set in the Lorcana TCG series and marks an important chapter for both collectors and players. The set expands the universe with a mysterious, supernatural theme, where ghost-hunting and new characters set the stage for entirely new gameplay experiences. With 204 cards in the core set, including both standard and foil versions, Whispers in the Well not only adds more cards but also introduces a new card type called Whispers – mysterious, spectral figures of unknown origin. If you want to explore the entire Lorcana universe, you can find a complete overview at Disney Lorcana.

What makes Whispers in the Well unique?

Whispers in the Well stands out from previous Lorcana expansions on several fronts. First, the set introduces Whispers – a completely new card classification that adds a layer of mystery and strategy to the game. Thematically, the set moves into the supernatural with a focus on mysteries and ghost-hunting, which distinguishes it from more adventure- or action-oriented Lorcana sets like Shimmering Skies.

Additionally, Whispers in the Well brings new franchises into Lorcana, such as The Black Cauldron and Gargoyles, giving collectors the chance to obtain characters that have never before been part of the card game. The set is also known for its layered rarities: from common cards to foil editions and high-end chase variants like Enchanted cards and exclusive promos. For collectors, this means there's plenty to chase — both in terms of rarity and aesthetics.

How to choose the right Lorcana product

Choosing the right product format in Disney Lorcana Whispers in the Well depends on whether you primarily collect, play, or both. Booster packs are the obvious choice if you want to open many cards and chase the most sought-after variants, while displays give you volume and a better chance of hitting premium cards. Starter decks are the natural choice for new players or those who want to try the new mechanics without building a deck from scratch.

Promo products and special buy-a-box cards are particularly interesting for collectors, as they are often only available in limited quantities and quickly become rare in mint condition. Also consider which franchises and characters you are most interested in — the set features debuts from both classic and newer Disney universes, so there's something for everyone.

Use and play with Whispers in the Well

Whispers in the Well is designed to be used in casual play, tournaments, and as collector items. The new Whispers cards and mechanics allow for experimenting with new strategies, and the set's story-driven design makes diving into the cards an experience — whether you play or collect. Many choose to combine cards from multiple Lorcana sets to create unique decks or complete their collection.

For collectors, the hunt for Enchanted cards, iconic characters, and exclusive promos is what makes Whispers in the Well a must-have. The set serves as an important checkpoint in the Lorcana cycle and marks a mature phase for both the game and the collector market.
