What are POP MART figures?
POP MART is an internationally recognized brand in collectible figures and designer toys, especially known for its unique blind box concept and collaborations with artists like Kasing Lung. In particular, Labubu from the THE MONSTERS universe has achieved cult status among collectors — the distinctive figures with pointy ears and nine teeth have become iconic. POP MART figures stand out from traditional collectibles by combining artistic design, limited editions and a strong collecting culture, where the hunt for secret and chase editions is a big part of the experience.
Compared with other popular collectible figures like Funko Pop, POP MART offers a more artistic and often more niche universe, where each series has its own theme and lineup. That makes POP MART figures special for both new and experienced collectors who want to explore designer toys with depth and character.
How the blind box concept works
The core of POP MART's popularity is the blind box format. Each blind box contains one random figure from a given series — you don't know in advance which character you'll get. That makes unboxing an exciting experience, where both luck and strategy come into play, especially if you're aiming to complete a set or chase rare secret editions.
In series like Big into Energy and Have a Seat you typically find six regular figures and one secret, with the latter often having a low pull rate and therefore being highly sought after. Many collectors choose to buy sealed cases (unopened outer cartons containing multiple blind boxes) to increase the chance of getting a secret or to secure an entire lineup in its original condition. It’s important to note that a sealed case does not necessarily guarantee a secret unless specified by POP MART.
Popular POP MART series and characters
Labubu is undoubtedly the best-known character in POP MART's THE MONSTERS universe, but there are other figures like Zimomo and Tycoco. Series such as Big into Energy, Have a Seat and Pin for Love each have their own distinct appeal for collectors:
Big into Energy: Vinyl and plush figures focused on colorful designs and a coveted secret edition.
Have a Seat: Plush pendants in seated poses, where the secret edition is the major collector target.
Pin for Love: A pendant series divided into A–M and N–Z, adding an extra layer of collecting strategy.
Coca-Cola x Labubu: A licensed collaboration where Labubu meets Coca-Cola's iconic branding.
Each series has its own rarity structure, and it’s precisely the hunt for secrets and complete lineups that makes the POP MART universe so vibrant. For a broader overview of related products you can explore All products.
How to choose the right POP MART figures
When choosing POP MART figures for your collection, it’s about more than just looks. Consider the following criteria:
Format and materials: POP MART offers vinyl figures, plush pendants and pendant blind boxes. Vinyl is popular for its durability and detail, while plush and pendants are suited for bags or keychains.
Series and characters: Choose by theme, character or collaboration — some collectors focus specifically on Labubu, while others target collaboration releases like Coca-Cola x Labubu.
Limited editions and secrets: Secret editions and chase figures are rarer and often more sought after. Always check packaging, holograms and manufacturer markings to verify authenticity, especially when buying on the secondary market.
Display and use: POP MART figures work well for display, gifts and personal decoration. Many collectors build displays with complete lineups or specially rare pieces.
Tips for collecting and storage
To preserve the value and appearance of your POP MART figures, proper storage is crucial. Keep figures in their original packaging (MIB/MISB) for maximum collector value, and avoid direct sunlight, moisture and dust. Consider investing in accessories such as display boxes, storage boxes or protective sleeves so your collection stays in top condition.
POP MART figures are not just toys — they are small artworks with collecting history, character and identity. Whether you’re drawn to the hunt for secrets, completing series, or simply love the visual style, POP MART offers a universe where collecting joy and geeky passion go hand in hand.
